| | 13:1 | 以色列人又行耶和華眼中看為惡的事、耶和華將他們交在非利士人手中四十年。 | And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. |
| | 13:2 | 那時有一個瑣拉人、是屬但族的、名叫瑪挪亞．他的妻不懷孕、不生育。 | And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not. |
| | 13:3 | 耶和華的使者向那婦人顯現、對他說、向來你不懷孕、不生育、如今你必懷孕生一個兒子． | And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. |
| | 13:4 | 所以你當謹慎、清酒濃酒都不可喝、一切不潔之物也不可喫。 | Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: |
| | 13:5 | 你必懷孕生一個兒子、不可用剃頭刀剃他的頭、因為這孩子一出胎就歸 神作拿細耳人．他必起首拯救以色列人脫離非利士人的手。 | For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. |
| | 13:6 | 婦人就回去對丈夫說、有一個神人到我面前來、他的相貌如 神使者的相貌、甚是可畏、我沒有問他從那裏來、他也沒有將他的名告訴我、 | Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name: |
| | 13:7 | 卻對我說、你要懷孕生一個兒子、所以清酒濃酒都不可喝、一切不潔之物也不可喫、因為這孩子從出胎一直到死必歸 神作拿細耳人。 | But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death. |
| | 13:8 | 瑪挪亞就祈求耶和華說、主阿、求你再差遣那神人到我們這裏來、好指教我們怎樣待這將要生的孩子。 | Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born. |
| | 13:9 | 神應允瑪挪亞的話．婦人正坐在田間的時候、 神的使者又到他那裏、他丈夫瑪挪亞卻沒有同他在一處。 | And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her. |
| | 13:10 | 婦人急忙跑去告訴丈夫說、那日到我面前來的人、又向我顯現。 | And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day. |
| | 13:11 | 瑪挪亞起來跟隨他的妻來到那人面前、對他說、與這婦人說話的就是你麼．他說、是我。 | And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am. |
| | 13:12 | 瑪挪亞說、願你的話應驗．我們當怎樣待這孩子、他後來當怎樣呢。 | And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him? |
| | 13:13 | 耶和華的使者對瑪挪亞說、我告訴婦人的一切事、他都當謹慎。 | And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware. |
| | 13:14 | 葡萄樹所結的都不可喫．清酒濃酒都不可喝．一切不潔之物也不可喫．凡我所吩咐的他都當遵守。 | She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe. |
| | 13:15 | 瑪挪亞對耶和華的使者說、求你容我們款留你、好為你預備一隻山羊羔。 | And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee. |
| | 13:16 | 耶和華的使者對瑪挪亞說、你雖然款留我、我卻不喫你的食物．你若預備燔祭就當獻與耶和華。原來瑪挪亞不知道他是耶和華的使者。 | And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD. |
| | 13:17 | 瑪挪亞對耶和華的使者說、請將你的名告訴我、到你話應驗的時候、我們好尊敬你。 | And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour? |
| | 13:18 | 耶和華的使者對他說、你何必問我的名、我名是奇妙的。 | And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret? |
| | 13:19 | 瑪挪亞將一隻山羊羔和素祭、在磐石上獻與耶和華．使者行奇妙的事、瑪挪亞和他的妻觀看． | So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wonderously; and Manoah and his wife looked on. |
| | 13:20 | 見火焰從壇上往上升、耶和華的使者在壇上的火焰中也升上去了．瑪挪亞和他的妻看見、就俯伏於地。 | For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. |
| | 13:21 | 耶和華的使者不再向瑪挪亞和他的妻顯現．瑪挪亞纔知道他是耶和華的使者。 | But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD. |
| | 13:22 | 瑪挪亞對他的妻說、我們必要死、因為看見了 神。 | And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. |
| | 13:23 | 他的妻卻對他說、耶和華若要殺我們、必不從我們手裏收納燔祭和素祭、並不將這一切事指示我們、今日也不將這些話告訴我們。 | But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these. |
| | 13:24 | 後來婦人生了一個兒子、給他起名叫參孫．孩子長大、耶和華賜福與他。 | And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. |
| | 13:25 | 在瑪哈尼但、就是瑣拉和以實陶中間、耶和華的靈纔感動他。 | And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol. |
