| | 1:5 | 你們的列祖在哪裏呢．那些先知能永遠存活麼． | Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever? |
| | 1:6 | 只是我的言語和律例、就是所吩咐我僕人眾先知的、豈不臨到你們列祖麼．他們就回頭、說、萬軍之耶和華定意按我們的行動作為向我們怎樣行、他已照樣行了。 | But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us. |

| | 1:8 | 我夜間觀看、見一人騎着紅馬、站在窪地番石榴樹中間．在他身後、又有紅馬、黃馬、和白馬。 | I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white. |
| | 1:9 | 我對與我說話的天使說、主阿、這是甚麼意思．他說、我要指示你這是甚麼意思。 | Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be. |
| | 1:10 | 那站在番石榴樹中間的人說、這是奉耶和華差遣在遍地走來走去的。 | And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth. |
| | 1:11 | 那些騎馬的、對站在番石榴樹中間耶和華的使者說、我們已在遍地走來走去、見全地都安息平靜。 | And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest. |
| | 1:12 | 於是耶和華的使者說、萬軍之耶和華阿、你惱恨耶路撒冷、和猶大的城邑、已經七十年．你不施憐憫要到幾時呢。 | Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years? |
| | 1:13 | 耶和華就用美善的安慰話、回答那與我說話的天使。 | And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable words. |
| | 1:14 | 與我說話的天使對我說、你要宣告說、萬軍之耶和華如此說、我為耶路撒冷為錫安、心裏極其火熱。 | So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. |
| | 1:15 | 我甚惱怒那安逸的列國．因我從前稍微惱怒我民、他們就加害過分。 | And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. |
| | 1:16 | 所以耶和華如此說、現今我回到耶路撒冷、仍施憐憫．我的殿必重建在其中、準繩必拉在耶路撒冷之上．這是萬軍之耶和華說的。 | Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. |
| | 1:17 | 你要再宣告說、萬軍之耶和華如此說、我的城邑、必再豐盛發達．耶和華必再安慰錫安、揀選耶路撒冷。 | Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem. |
| | 1:18 | 我舉目觀看、見有四角。 | Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns. |
| | 1:19 | 我就問與我說話的天使說、這是甚麼意思．他回答說、這是打散猶大、以色列、和耶路撒冷的角。 | And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. |
| | 1:20 | 耶和華又指四個匠人給我看。 | And the LORD shewed me four carpenters. |
| | 1:21 | 我說、他們來作甚麼呢．他說、這是打散猶大的角、使人不敢抬頭．但這些匠人來威嚇列國、打掉他們的角、就是舉起打散猶大地的角。 | Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it. |
