| | 16:1 | 耶穌又對門徒說、有一個財主的管家．別人向他主人告他浪費主人的財物。 | And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. |
| | 16:2 | 主人叫他來、對他說、我聽見你這事怎麼樣呢．把你所經管的交代明白。因你不能再作我的管家。 | And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. |
| | 16:3 | 那管家心裏說、主人辭我、不用我再作管家、我將來作甚麼．鋤地呢、無力．討飯呢、怕羞。 | Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. |
| | 16:4 | 我知道怎麼行、好叫人在我不作管家之後、接我到他們家裏去。 | I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. |
| | 16:5 | 於是把欠他主人債的、一個一個的叫了來、問頭一個說、你欠我主人多少． | So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord? |
| | 16:6 | 他說、一百簍油．〔每簍約五十斤〕管家說、拿你的賬快坐下寫五十。 | And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. |
| | 16:7 | 又問一個說、你欠多少．他說、一百石麥子．管家說、拿你的賬寫八十。 | Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore. |
| | 16:8 | 主人就誇獎這不義的管家作事聰明．因為今世之子、在世事之上、較比光明之子、更加聰明。 | And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. |
| | 16:9 | 我又告訴你們、要藉着那不義的錢財、結交朋友．到了錢財無用的時候、他們可以接你們到永存的帳幕裏去。 | And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. |
| | 16:10 | 人在最小的事上忠心、在大事上也忠心．在最小的事上不義、在大事上也不義。 | He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. |
| | 16:11 | 倘若你們在不義的錢財上不忠心、誰還把那真實的錢財託付你們呢。 | If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? |
| | 16:12 | 倘若你們在別人的東西上不忠心、誰還把你們自己的東西給你們呢。 | And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? |
| | 16:13 | 一個僕人不能事奉兩個主．不是惡這個愛那個、就是重這個輕那個．你們不能又事奉 神、又事奉瑪門。 | No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. |
| | 16:14 | 法利賽人是貪愛錢財的、他們聽見這一切話、就嗤笑耶穌。 | And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. |
| | 16:15 | 耶穌對他們說、你們是在人面前自稱為義的．你們的心、 神卻知道．因為人所尊貴的是 神看為可憎惡的。 | And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. |
| | 16:16 | 律法和先知、到約翰為止．從此 神國的福音傳開了、人人努力要進去。 | The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. |
| | 16:17 | 天地廢去、較比律法的一點一畫落空還容易。 | And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. |
| | 16:18 | 凡休妻另娶的、就是犯姦淫．娶被休之妻的、也是犯姦淫。 | Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery. |
| | 16:19 | 有一個財主、穿着紫色袍和細麻布衣服、天天奢華宴樂。 | There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: |
| | 16:20 | 又有一個討飯的、名叫拉撒路、渾身生瘡、被人放在財主門口、 | And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, |
| | 16:21 | 要得財主桌子上掉下來的零碎充飢．並且狗來餂他的瘡。 | And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. |
| | 16:22 | 後來那討飯的死了、被天使帶去放在亞伯拉罕的懷裏．財主也死了、並且埋葬了。 | And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; |
| | 16:23 | 他在陰間受痛苦、舉目遠遠的望見亞伯拉罕、又望見拉撒路在他懷裏． | And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. |
| | 16:24 | 就喊着說、我祖亞伯拉罕哪、可憐我罷、打發拉撒路來、用指頭尖蘸點水、涼涼我的舌頭．因為我在這火焰裏、極其痛苦。 | And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. |
| | 16:25 | 亞伯拉罕說、兒阿、你該回想你生前享過福、拉撒路也受過苦．如今他在這裏得安慰、你倒受痛苦。 | But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. |
| | 16:26 | 不但這樣、並且在你我之間、有深淵限定、以致人要從這邊過到你們那邊、是不能的、要從那邊過到我們這邊、也是不能的。 | And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. |
| | 16:27 | 財主說、我祖阿、既是這樣、求你打發拉撒路到我父家去． | Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: |
| | 16:28 | 因為我還有五個弟兄．他可以對他們作見證、免得他們也來到這痛苦的地方。 | For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. |
| | 16:29 | 亞伯拉罕說、他們有摩西和先知的話、可以聽從。 | Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. |
| | 16:30 | 他說、我祖亞伯拉罕哪、不是的．若有一個從死裏復活的、到他們那裏去的、他們必要悔改。 | And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. |
| | 16:31 | 亞伯拉罕說、若不聽從摩西和先知的話、就是有一個從死裏復活的、他們也是不聽勸。 | And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. |
