| | 25:1 | 以色列人住在什亭．百姓與摩押女子行起淫亂． | And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. |
| | 25:2 | 因為這女子叫百姓來、一同給他們的神獻祭、百姓就喫他們的祭物、跪拜他們的神。 | And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods. |
| | 25:3 | 以色列人與巴力毗珥連合、耶和華的怒氣就向以色列人發作。 | And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. |
| | 25:4 | 耶和華吩咐摩西說、將百姓中所有的族長、在我面前對着日頭懸挂、使我向以色列人所發的怒氣、可以消了。 | And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel. |
| | 25:5 | 於是摩西吩咐以色列的審判官說、凡屬你們的人、有與巴力毗珥連合的、你們各人要把他們殺了。 | And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor. |
| | 25:6 | 摩西和以色列全會眾、正在會幕門前哭泣的時候、誰知、有以色列中的一個人、當他們眼前、帶着一個米甸女人到他弟兄那裏去。 | And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. |
| | 25:7 | 祭司亞倫的孫子、以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈看見了、就從會中起來、手裏拿着槍． | And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; |
| | 25:8 | 跟隨那以色列人進亭子裏去、便將以色列人和那女人由腹中刺透、這樣、在以色列人中瘟疫就止息了。 | And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel. |
| | 25:9 | 那時遭瘟疫死的、有二萬四千人。 | And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand. |
| | 25:10 | 耶和華曉諭摩西說、 | And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, |
| | 25:11 | 祭司亞倫的孫子、以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈、使我向以色列人所發的怒消了．因他在他們中間、以我的忌邪為心、使我不在忌邪中把他們除滅。 | Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy. |
| | 25:12 | 因此、你要說、我將我平安的約賜給他。 | Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace: |
| | 25:13 | 這約要給他和他的後裔、作為永遠當祭司職任的約、因他為 神有忌邪的心、為以色列人贖罪。 | And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel. |
| | 25:14 | 那與米甸女人一同被殺的以色列人、名叫心利、是撒路的兒子、是西緬一個宗族的首領。 | Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites. |
| | 25:15 | 那被殺的米甸女人、名叫哥斯比、是蘇珥的女兒、這蘇珥是米甸一個宗族的首領。 | And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian. |
| | 25:16 | 耶和華曉諭摩西說、 | And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, |
| | 25:17 | 你要擾害米甸人、擊殺他們． | Vex the Midianites, and smite them: |
| | 25:18 | 因為他們用詭計擾害你們、在毗珥的事上、和他們的姊妹米甸首領的女兒哥斯比的事上、用這詭計誘惑了你們．這哥斯比當瘟疫流行的日子、因毗珥的事被殺了。 | For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake. |
