| | 21:1 | 你在百姓面前所要立的典章是這樣． | Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them. |
| | 21:2 | 你若買希伯來人作奴僕、他必服事你六年、第七年他可以自由、白白地出去。 | If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. |
| | 21:3 | 他若孤身來、就可以孤身去．他若有妻、他的妻就可以同他出去。 | If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. |
| | 21:4 | 他主人若給他妻子、妻子給他生了兒子、或女兒、妻子和兒女要歸主人、他要獨自出去。 | If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. |
| | 21:5 | 倘或奴僕明說、我愛我的主人、和我的妻子兒女、不願意自由出去． | And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: |
| | 21:6 | 他的主人就要帶他到審判官那裏、〔審判官或作 神下同〕又要帶他到門前、靠近門框、用錐子穿他的耳朵、他就永遠服事主人。 | Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever. |
| | 21:7 | 人若賣女兒作婢女、婢女不可像男僕那樣出去。 | And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. |
| | 21:8 | 主人選定他歸自己、若不喜歡他、就要許他贖身．主人既然用詭詐待他、就沒有權柄賣給外邦人。 | If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. |
| | 21:9 | 主人若選定他給自己的兒子、就當待他如同女兒。 | And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. |
| | 21:10 | 若另娶一個、那女子的喫食、衣服、並好合的事、仍不可減少。 | If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. |
| | 21:11 | 若不向他行這三樣、他就可以不用錢贖、白白的出去。 | And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money. |
| | 21:12 | 打人以致打死的、必要把他治死。 | He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. |
| | 21:13 | 人若不是埋伏着殺人、乃是 神交在他手中、我就設下一個地方、他可以往那裏逃跑。 | And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee. |
| | 21:14 | 人若任意用詭計殺了他的鄰舍、就是逃到我的壇那裏、也當捉去把他治死。 | But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die. |
| | 21:15 | 打父母的、必要把他治死。 | And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. |
| | 21:16 | 拐帶人口、或是把人賣了、或是留在他手下、必要把他治死。 | And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. |
| | 21:17 | 咒罵父母的、必要把他治死。 | And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. |
| | 21:18 | 人若彼此相爭、這個用石頭或是拳頭打那個、尚且不至於死、不過躺臥在床、 | And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed: |
| | 21:19 | 若再能起來扶杖而出、那打他的可算無罪、但要將他耽誤的工夫用錢賠補、並要將他全然醫好。 | If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. |
| | 21:20 | 人若用棍子打奴僕或婢女、立時死在他的手下、他必要受刑。 | And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. |
| | 21:21 | 若過一兩天纔死、就可以不受刑、因為是用錢買的。 | Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money. |
| | 21:22 | 人若彼此爭鬥、傷害有孕的婦人、甚至墜胎、隨後卻無別害、那傷害他的總要按婦人的丈夫所要的、照審判官所斷的受罰。 | If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. |
| | 21:23 | 若有別害、就要以命償命、 | And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, |
| | 21:24 | 以眼還眼、以牙還牙、以手還手、以腳還腳、 | Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, |
| | 21:25 | 以烙還烙、以傷還傷、以打還打。 | Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. |
| | 21:26 | 人若打壞了他奴僕或是婢女的一隻眼、就要因他的眼放他去得以自由。 | And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. |
| | 21:27 | 若打掉了他奴僕或是婢女的一個牙、就要因他的牙放他去得以自由。 | And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake. |
| | 21:28 | 牛若觸死男人、或是女人、總要用石頭打死那牛、卻不可喫他的肉．牛的主人可算無罪。 | If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit. |
| | 21:29 | 倘若那牛素來是觸人的、有人報告了牛主、他竟不把牛拴着、以致把男人或是女人觸死、就要用石頭打死那牛、牛主也必治死。 | But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. |
| | 21:30 | 若罰他贖命的價銀、他必照所罰的、贖他的命。 | If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him. |
| | 21:31 | 牛無論觸了人的兒子、或是女兒、必照這例辦理。 | Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him. |
| | 21:32 | 牛若觸了奴僕、或是婢女、必將銀子三十舍客勒給他們的主人、也要用石頭把牛打死。 | If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. |
| | 21:33 | 人若敞着井口、或挖井不遮蓋、有牛、或驢掉在裏頭。 | And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein; |
| | 21:34 | 井主要拿錢賠還本主人．死牲畜要歸自己。 | The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his. |
| | 21:35 | 這人的牛若傷了那人的牛、以致於死、他們要賣了活牛、平分價值、也要平分死牛。 | And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide. |
| | 21:36 | 人若知道這牛素來是觸人的、主人竟不把牛拴着、他必要以牛還牛、死牛要歸自己。 | Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own. |
