| | 22:1 | 提幔人以利法回答說、 | Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, |
| | 22:2 | 人豈能使 神有益呢．智慧人但能有益於己。 | Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself? |
| | 22:3 | 你為人公義、豈叫全能者喜悅呢．你行為完全、豈能使他得利呢。 | Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect? |
| | 22:4 | 豈是因你敬畏他、就責備你、審判你麼。 | Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment? |
| | 22:5 | 你的罪惡豈不是大麼．你的罪孽也沒有窮盡。 | Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite? |
| | 22:6 | 因你無故強取弟兄的物為當頭、剝去貧寒人的衣服。 | For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing. |
| | 22:7 | 困乏的人你沒有給他水喝．飢餓的人、你沒有給他食物。 | Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry. |
| | 22:8 | 有能力的人、就得地土．尊貴的人、也住在其中。 | But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it. |
| | 22:9 | 你打發寡婦空手回去、折斷孤兒的膀臂。 | Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. |
| | 22:10 | 因此、有網羅環繞你、有恐懼忽然使你驚惶． | Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee; |
| | 22:11 | 或有黑暗蒙蔽你、並有洪水淹沒你。 | Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee. |
| | 22:12 | 神豈不是在高天麼．你看星宿何其高呢。 | Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are! |
| | 22:13 | 你說、 神知道甚麼．他豈能看透幽暗施行審判呢。 | And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud? |
| | 22:14 | 密雲將他遮蓋、使他不能看見．他周遊穹蒼。 | Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven. |
| | 22:15 | 你要依從上古的道麼．這道是惡人所行的． | Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden? |
| | 22:16 | 他們未到死期、忽然除滅．根基毀壞、好像被江河沖去． | Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood: |
| | 22:17 | 他們向 神說、離開我們罷．又說、全能者能把我們怎麼樣呢。 | Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them? |
| | 22:18 | 那知 神以美物充滿他們的房屋．但惡人所謀定的離我好遠。 | Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me. |
| | 22:19 | 義人看見他們的結局就歡喜、無辜的人嗤笑他們、 | The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn. |
| | 22:20 | 說、那起來攻擊我們的、果然被剪除、其餘的都被火燒滅。 | Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth. |
| | 22:21 | 你要認識 神、就得平安．福氣也必臨到你。 | Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. |
| | 22:22 | 你當領受他口中的教訓、將他的言語存在心裏。 | Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. |
| | 22:23 | 你若歸向全能者、從你帳棚中遠除不義、就必得建立。 | If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. |
| | 22:24 | 要將你的珍寶丟在塵土裏、將俄斐的黃金丟在溪河石頭之間． | Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. |
| | 22:25 | 全能者就必為你的珍寶、作你的寶銀。 | Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver. |
| | 22:26 | 你就要以全能者為喜樂、向 神仰起臉來。 | For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God. |
| | 22:27 | 你要禱告他、他就聽你．你也要還你的願。 | Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. |
| | 22:28 | 你定意要作何事、必然給你成就．亮光也必照耀你的路。 | Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. |
| | 22:29 | 人使你降卑、你仍可說、必得高升．謙卑的人 神必然拯救。 | When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. |
| | 22:30 | 人非無辜、 神且要搭救他．他因你手中清潔、必蒙拯救。 | He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands. |
