| 41:1 | 你能用魚鉤釣上鱷魚麼、能用繩子壓下他的舌頭麼。 | Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? |
| 41:2 | 你能用繩索穿他的鼻子麼、能用鉤穿他的腮骨麼。 | Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? |
| 41:3 | 他豈向你連連懇求、說柔和的話麼. | Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? |
| 41:4 | 豈肯與你立約、使你拿他永遠作奴僕麼。 | Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? |
| 41:5 | 你豈可拿他當雀鳥玩耍麼.豈可為你的幼女將他拴住麼。 | Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? |
| 41:6 | 搭夥的漁夫、豈可拿他當貨物麼、能把他分給商人麼。 | Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? |
| 41:7 | 你能用倒鉤槍扎滿他的皮、能用魚叉叉滿他的頭麼。 | Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? |
| 41:8 | 你按手在他身上、想與他爭戰、就不再這樣行罷。 | Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. |
| 41:9 | 人指望捉拿他、是徒然的.一見他、豈不喪膽麼。 | Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? |
| 41:10 | 沒有那麼兇猛的人敢惹他.這樣、誰能在我面前站立得住呢。 | None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? |
| 41:11 | 誰先給我甚麼、使我償還呢、天下萬物都是我的。 | Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. |
| 41:12 | 論到鱷魚的肢體、和其大力、並美好的骨格、我不能緘默不言。 | I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. |
| 41:13 | 誰能剝他的外衣.誰能進他上下牙骨之間呢。 | Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? |
| 41:14 | 誰能開他的腮頰.他牙齒四圍是可畏的。 | Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. |
| 41:15 | 他以堅固的鱗甲為可誇、緊緊合閉、封得嚴密。 | His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. |
| 41:16 | 這鱗甲一一相連、甚至氣不得透入其間. | One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. |
| 41:17 | 都是互相聯絡、膠結不能分離。 | They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. |
| 41:18 | 他打噴嚏、就發出光來.他眼睛好像早晨的光線.〔光線原文作眼皮〕 | By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. |
| 41:19 | 從他口中發出燒着的火把、與飛迸的火星。 | Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. |
| 41:20 | 從他鼻孔冒出煙來、如燒開的鍋、和點着的蘆葦。 | Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. |
| 41:21 | 他的氣點着煤炭、有火焰從他口中發出。 | His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. |
| 41:22 | 他頸項中存着勁力、在他面前的都恐嚇蹦跳。 | In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. |
| 41:23 | 他的肉塊互相聯絡、緊貼其身、不能搖動。 | The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. |
| 41:24 | 他的心結實如石頭、如下磨石那樣結實。 | His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. |
| 41:25 | 他一起來、勇士都驚恐.心裏慌亂、便都昏迷。 | When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. |
| 41:26 | 人若用刀、用槍、用標槍、用尖槍扎他、都是無用。 | The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. |
| 41:27 | 他以鐵為乾草、以銅為爛木。 | He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. |
| 41:28 | 箭不能恐嚇他使他逃避、彈石在他看為碎稭。 | The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. |
| 41:29 | 棍棒算為禾稭.他嗤笑短槍颼的響聲。 | Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. |
| 41:30 | 他肚腹下如尖瓦片.他如釘耙經過淤泥。 | Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. |
| 41:31 | 他使深淵開滾如鍋、使洋海如鍋中的膏油。 | He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. |
| 41:32 | 他行的路隨後發光、令人想深淵如同白髮。 | He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. |
| 41:33 | 在地上沒有像他造的那樣無所懼怕. | Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. |
| 41:34 | 凡高大的、他無不藐視、他在驕傲的水族上作王。 | He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride. |
