| | 42:1 | 约伯回答耶和华说、 | Then Job answered the LORD, and said, |
| | 42:2 | 我知道你万事都能作、你的旨意不能拦阻。 | I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. |
| | 42:3 | 谁用无知的言语、使你的旨意隐藏呢。我所说的、是我不明白的．这些事太奇妙、是我不知道的。 | Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not. |
| | 42:4 | 求你听我、我要说话．我问你、求你指示我。 | Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. |
| | 42:5 | 我从前风闻有你、现在亲眼看见你。 | I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. |
| | 42:6 | 因此我厌恶自己、〔自己或作我的言语〕在尘土和炉灰中懊悔。 | Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. |
| | 42:7 | 耶和华对约伯说话以后、就对提幔人以利法说、我的怒气向你、和你两个朋友发作．因为你们议论我、不如我的仆人约伯说的是。 | And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. |
| | 42:8 | 现在你们要取七只公牛、七只公羊、到我仆人约伯那里去、为自己献上燔祭．我的仆人约伯就为你们祈祷．我因悦纳他、就不按你们的愚妄办你们．你们议论我、不如我的仆人约伯说的是。 | Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job. |
| | 42:9 | 于是提幔人以利法、书亚人比勒达、拿玛人琐法、照着耶和华所吩咐的去行、耶和华就悦纳约伯。 | So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job. |
| | 42:10 | 约伯为他的朋友祈祷、耶和华就使约伯从苦境转回、〔苦境原文作掳掠〕并且耶和华赐给他的、比他从前所有的加倍。 | And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. |
| | 42:11 | 约伯的弟兄、姐妹、和以先所认识的人都来见他、在他家里一同吃饭．又论到耶和华所降与他的一切灾祸．都为他悲伤安慰他．每人也送他一块银子、和一个金环。 | Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold. |
| | 42:12 | 这样、耶和华后来赐福给约伯、比先前更多．他有一万四千羊、六千骆驼、一千对牛、一千母驴。 | So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. |
| | 42:13 | 他也有七个儿子、三个女儿。 | He had also seven sons and three daughters. |
| | 42:14 | 他给长女起名叫耶米玛．次女叫基洗亚．三女叫基连哈朴。 | And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch. |
| | 42:15 | 在那全地的妇女中、找不着像约伯的女儿那样美貌．他们的父亲使他们在弟兄中得产业。 | And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren. |
| | 42:16 | 此后、约伯又活了一百四十年、得见他的儿孙、直到四代。 | After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations. |
| | 42:17 | 这样、约伯年纪老迈、日子满足而死。 | So Job died, being old and full of days. |
